If you're going to connect your READ THIS FIRST! In order to prevent music that you have transferred to your iPod through iLoad from being erased by iTunes®, you should set your iTunes and iPod options to "Manually manage music and videos". If you do not, iTunes will mirror your computer based iTunes library to your iPod Therefore, all of the CDs copied to your iPod with iLoad will be lost. To "Manage your music manually", follow these steps: iTunes version 7 or later (required): 1) Connect iPod to your computer using your USB cord. 2) Start iTunes (if it is not automatically started). 3) Select iPod in the source pane located on the left side of your iTunes window by clicking the iPod icon once. 4) Click the Summary tab on the top of the screen once. 5) In the options section in the lower portion of your screen, select "Manually manage music and videos" by clicking the small box next to this option. When it is chosen, a check will appear in the box. 6) You will then be asked, "Are you sure you want to manually manage music and videos on your iPod? You will need to manually eject your iPod before it can be disconnected safely." Answer "OK" to this question. 7) Click the apply tab located in the lower right hand section of your screen. 8) In the source pane located on the left hand side of your iTunes screen, you will now want to eject your iPod by clicking the eject icon directly to the right of your iPod icon.
